Totally unusable product, October 4, 2011 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Set of 12 Bedskirt Pins. Holds Bed Skirts in Place, Easy to Use, Skirt Can't Sag or Shift! Stay away from this product. I've lost more money than this product costs: had to through away broken bedskirt, and also teared my mattress a little, probably decreasing it's reselling value.
The main problem is bad design - thin metal pins will do no good to bedskirt, the same kind of movements that was causing it slide off, will cause it to tear. Any bedskirt pins must be much thicker. I was told that a typical bedskirt pin would be big and straight pin, designed to go under the mattress. These ones are designed to be screwed on the top side. I couldn't find them but I ended up buying "bed band" straps, which work fine for me.
I also disagree with other commenters that they penetreate easily - they don't. It's cheap material, and it requires care to screw it in without breaking them, and then there's a major design issue which makes them worthless.
Upd.: I think the other two reviews are fake, they are very suspicious:

So far the best ones out there, May 26, 2011 This review is from: Set of 12 Bedskirt Pins. Holds Bed Skirts in Place, Easy to Use, Skirt Can't Sag or Shift! These pins are very sharp, the points penetrates easily and the size is not short, so they don't come off easily unless you want to take them off
